Old and New Book Headed to Kindle

April 2, 2010

Welcome back, to anyone who might stumble across my blog out there in the world…I am back, trying to market my first book, Scout Squad: Going Native, and my upcoming novel Tales of the Blue Knight: Becoming a Knight.  My latest news for Scout Squad is that it will soon be available on Kindle from Amazon and the Barnes and Noble equivalent.  My new book is at the tail end of the editing and will be working on the production details soon.

Connecting with Old Friends

February 10, 2010

I have spent some time recently reaching out and connecting with old friends.  Some are from high school and others from college and some from past jobs.  It has made me a little nostalgic.  In looking up one college friend, I saw that she had published a book of poetry and in Amazon.  In looking at her book, i noted that there was an author page.  I looked up for my book and I am now working on my author page.

On another note, my mom was picking on my at finishing up my current book, which I need to .  In the move, I can’t find the marked up manuscript.  Once I do, it shouldn’t take me long to fix it up and submit it.  I need to get this done and moving forward.

Trying the blog again

February 3, 2010

I am back and I am going to try and start keeping a regular blog again as I work on turning in the Blue Knight novel and start writing the sequel to my first Novel, Scout Squad: Going Native. If you happen to be cruising the internet and find this blog entry, feel free to comment.

Twitter – Convention – Books

June 4, 2009

Okay, I have more people following my twitter page than my blog.  I guess I have to be much quicker on my blog and hold down my comments to 140 characters…ooops, out of characters.

I am very excited about the upcoming convention.  I just got boxes and boxes of books from UPS and I am praying that people will buy my book.  Shore Leave 31 will be held in Baltimore from July 10th through the 12th.  For more info, visit: http://www.shore-leave.com/.  I also signed up to have my book at a library association conference where prospective buyers, agents and publishers can see my book.  Mabye it will sell to some libraries.

Guess I went over my 140 words…thanks for stopping by.

I’m Back

May 30, 2009

I have been busy with other things, but now I am back in the groove of things.  I am starting to plan out my time at Shore Leave 31 and I am going to move forward with advertising.  I will be starting to post a little more regularly.  If you would like to discuss the book at all, please leave a post and I would be happy to talk to you.

Finally, I am in a Convention

May 10, 2009

I just received an email on Friday that I would be able to get half a table at Shore Leave 31 in Baltimore Maryland.  I am very excited to be able to get out and try and sell my book around other Science Fiction fans.  (Shore Leave Website: http://www.shore-leave.com/)  I think this will be the test that I need to gauge if I can sell.  At this point I also need to start advertising.  I plan on getting to that this week…

Thanks for stopping by.

Book Signing – Baltimore / Reisterstown

April 18, 2009

Today (4/18/2009) is my very first book signing.  I am not sure anyone is going to show up.  My wife asked me what my goal was for the day.  My reply was 1 person I don’t know.  I am going to take extra books to be prepared.  What if 100 people showed up?    :-)   Hey I am a dreamer, what can I say.  I am so pleased that Constellation Books was willing to host my first signing.  I wish I would hear back from the Virginia stores I contacted in Richmond, but neither Fountain Bookstore or Creatures and Crooks have called me back.  I need to make some followup calls.  Thanks for stopping by…

Upcoming Events

April 13, 2009

Okay, less than a week to my first book signing in Reiserstown Maryland.  I am excited.  I hope someone shows up.  Would be nice if a couple of the patrons of the bookstore are interested.  The Bookstore is Constellation Books and it is listed in the Appearances page of my website: www.chapmanwriting.com.

I am fifth on the waiting list for a table at the Balticon.  I think I need to sign up now for a Convention in Timonium Md.

I have 6 reviews on Amazon and I am very excited about a new fan who is only 11 years old and left me a great review.  Still need to advertise and market more, but the process is slow.
